Read before use
Important Safety Information
Read this manual before installing or operating the device. Keep it for future reference.
Use safely
Set up the device before driving. Do not adjust, troubleshoot or handle it while the vehicle is moving.
Expect limitations
Detection depends on target position, road geometry, mounting, interference and environmental conditions. Range is not guaranteed in every situation.
Keep visibility clear
Mount the unit securely without blocking the driver's view, airbags, controls, instrument panel or access to vehicle controls.
01 · Getting started
Installation and First Use
- Park safely. Install and connect the device while the vehicle is stationary, with the parking brake applied.
- Choose a suitable position. Place the unit securely on the dashboard, facing forward. Keep the radar's forward view unobstructed and avoid placing it behind metal objects or metallic films that may interfere with detection.
- Secure the device. Make sure it cannot slide, fall or become a hazard during braking or turning. Do not place it where an airbag deploys.
- Connect power. Use a regulated USB power supply rated at 5 V DC and at least 2.5 A.
- Check startup. Confirm the display powers on and the device appears to operate normally before moving off. If the screen stays blank, repeatedly restarts, smells hot or behaves abnormally, disconnect power when safe and contact support.
- Drive attentively. Use the display and audible alert, if fitted and enabled, only as supplementary information. Do not stare at the screen while driving.
02 · Power requirements
Charger and USB Power Specifications
Use a stable, correctly rated power source to reduce the risk of malfunction or damage.
| Parameter | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Input voltage | 5 V DC regulated USB supply |
| Recommended current capacity | 2.5 A minimum |
| Higher current rating | A supply rated above 2.5 A is acceptable if it provides standard regulated 5 V USB output; the device draws the current it needs. |
| Power connection | Use a sound USB cable and a reliable adapter or vehicle USB power source meeting the requirement above. |
| Not permitted | Do not connect directly to a 9 V, 12 V or other higher-voltage output. Do not use a damaged cable, loose connector or unregulated supply. |
03 · Display and alerts
Understanding Device Operation
LVVM-01 presents detected targets on its screen to help the driver build awareness of traffic ahead.
Radar target display
The 2.8-inch LCD can display up to eight detected targets, depending on conditions. A displayed target does not mean every vehicle or hazard has been detected.
Distance colours
Target colours indicate distance or relevance zones according to the device's display logic. Refer to any on-screen legend or product-specific insert supplied with your unit; do not assume a colour represents an exact stopping distance.
Audible alert
The buzzer gives an additional audible cue as a detected vehicle enters the selected alert zone. Beeps become more frequent as the vehicle approaches. Cabin noise or other conditions may make the buzzer difficult to hear, so always keep watching the road.
Push-button controls
The push button controls the buzzer and the alert-distance mode. Use it while parked or before starting your journey; do not reach for the button while driving.
Short press — buzzer ON/OFF
A short press toggles the buzzer sound mode between ON and OFF. When the buzzer is ON, audible alerts are provided according to the selected distance mode. When OFF, the device can continue to display detected targets, but the buzzer will not provide audible alerts.
Long press — 30 m / 70 m mode
A long press switches between the two alert-distance settings. Choose the mode that best suits the type of road and your driving conditions. Check the device display or indication, if provided, to confirm the selected mode.
| Mode | When the buzzer starts | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| 30 m mode | The buzzer begins when a detected vehicle enters approximately 30 metres. Beep frequency increases as the vehicle approaches. | City driving, where traffic and following distances often change quickly. |
| 70 m mode | The buzzer begins when a detected vehicle enters approximately 70 metres. Beep frequency increases as the vehicle approaches. | Highway driving, where earlier awareness of vehicles ahead can be useful. |
Understanding relative speed
Relative speed is the speed difference between your vehicle and a detected target along the radar's measured direction. It is not necessarily the target vehicle's speed shown on its speedometer, and it is not the same as your own road speed.
- If both vehicles travel in the same direction at similar speeds, their relative speed may be low even if both are travelling quickly.
- If the gap between your vehicle and a target is closing quickly, the relative speed can be higher.
- For a target moving in the opposite direction, the relative speed can reflect the combined closing speed.
The LVVM relative-speed display has a stated upper limit of 100 km/h. Treat this as the device's measurement/display limit, not as a recommended driving speed or a safety threshold. If the actual relative speed exceeds this limit, the displayed value may be capped, limited or otherwise not represent the full relative speed. Do not infer that a reading of 100 km/h is an exact value when the closing speed may be higher.
04 · Do's and don'ts
Operating Guidelines
Do
- Read this manual and check the device before each trip.
- Mount it securely, facing forward, with an unobstructed view.
- Use a regulated 5 V DC USB source rated at 2.5 A or above.
- Keep the device clean and dry; clean only the exterior with a soft, dry cloth.
- Keep attention on the road and use normal safe-driving practices.
- Disconnect power if you notice overheating, a damaged cable, smoke, unusual smell or erratic operation.
- Contact Elementum Dynamics for repair or support.
Don't
- Do not rely on LVVM-01 as a collision-avoidance system or substitute for attentive driving.
- Do not operate or adjust it while driving.
- Do not cover the sensing area or place metal objects in its detection path.
- Do not expose the device to water, heavy moisture, extreme heat or direct heat sources.
- Do not drop, strike, crush, bend, drill, modify or force open the enclosure.
- Do not use a higher-voltage supply, damaged cable or loose connector.
- Do not attempt DIY repairs or allow unauthorized persons to open the device.
- Do not use the device if it appears damaged or its operation is unreliable.
05 · Care and troubleshooting
Maintenance and Basic Checks
Routine care
- Switch off or disconnect the device before cleaning.
- Wipe the outside with a soft, dry cloth. Do not spray cleaners directly onto it or use solvents.
- Store it in a dry place. Avoid leaving it exposed to extreme cabin temperatures for prolonged periods.
- Inspect the power cable and connector for visible wear before use.
If the device does not work normally
- Display does not power on: Check that the USB adapter provides regulated 5 V DC, is rated for at least 2.5 A, and that the cable and connections are secure.
- Device restarts or behaves erratically: Check the power source and cable. If the problem persists, disconnect it and contact support.
- Targets appear inconsistent: Confirm that the device is secure, facing forward and not obstructed. Road geometry, target position, interference and weather can affect detection.
- Device was dropped, struck or exposed to liquid: Disconnect power if safe. Do not open it or attempt internal repair. Contact support.
